Chaplain
As I reported in the last newsletter, COL Bill Gillis
plans to step down as our Chapter’s Chaplain In January 2003. Thanks
to our Past President, Pete Burdett, we have a “volunteer” to relieve Chaplain
Gillis. CDR John Brown, USN (Ret), lives in Keene and attended the seminary
after retiring. Thanks to Chaplain Gillis for the spiritual guidance
that he has provided for the Chapter in the past, and thanks to John Brown
for his willingness to serve the Chapter in this capacity.
ROTC/JROTC Awards
Russell Youngs, our Chapter’s committee chairman
for awards recently reported that awards have been given to four ROTC and
twelve JROTC Cadets this past academic year. Presentations were made
to the outstanding senior and junior in each program by Chapter members in
conjunction with an awards ceremony conducted at each ROTC/JROTC location.
The outstanding senior received a plaque with the TROA crest and the outstanding
junior received a TROA certificate and ROTC medal and ribbon. Participating
in this program are: UNH, Dartmouth College, Fall Mountain High School, Spaulding
High School, West High School, Pinkerton Academy, White Mountain Regional
High School, Winnacunnet High School, and the Air National Guard.
